Design Your Own Tattoo – Armband Tattoos

Design Your Own Tattoo - Armband Tattoos

Design Your Own Tattoo

For both men and women choosing to Design Your Own Tattoo that is an Arm Band Tattoo is gaining in popularity more and more in society today.  There are a large number of young people getting these tattoos on their biceps and triceps.   From young professionals, bikers, rock stars & celebrities are getting in on this trend.

There are different types of arm band tattoos out there to choose from such as Celtic Knots, Organic tribal patterns, Hawaiian theme bands, and feather motifs.  You can also choose more extreme designs such as barb-wire, thorns, flames, snakes or dragons. You can also take arm bands and match them to ankle band tattoos and wrist band tattoos.  Then you will have a matching theme of tattoo designs going on.

You want to be sure when you design your own tattoo for your arm that it matches the shape of your arm and muscles.  If you have a smaller arm then a smaller to medium size band would be appropriate.  If you have large and muscular arms then a medium to large band would look more appropriate.   It is best if you can get a printout of the design and then cut out the design and wrap the paper cut out around your arm to get an idea of the look and feel of the design.

As for pain of getting a tattoo, the arm is one of the least painful places to get a tattoo. So when you design your own tattoo, you have some more flexibility in this area.  Speaking with your tattoo artist can also shed some light on the final look and placement of the tattoo.

These tattoos will be with you for the rest of your life, so placement of the tattoo is important.  Do you want your tattoo to be reveled when you wear low cut sleeved shirts, or do you want the tattoo a little higher up the arm.   You also want to be sure of the design before you get one as in such a revealing spot, you will never be able to remove this without it being noticed.  If there is symbolism behind the meaning of the tattoo, this is also important.  Do you want to be standing behind for this symbolism and meaning for eternity.

When you Design Your Own Tattoo for your arm. it should definitely not be a hasted decision, take your time and plan it wisely what type of tattoo design you desire as it will be with you for the rest of your life.

Design Your Own Tattoo – Flower Tattoos and their meanings!

Posted by | Posted in Design Your Own Tattoo | Posted on 11-09-2009

flower

When you want to Design Your Own Tattoo and decide to get a flower tattoo, they are gaining in pop culture today more and more as opposed to other popular tattoos such as skulls, tribal, gothic, etc.  These tattoos tend to describe more of one’s inner self and it is not uncommon for people to get more flower tattoos over time as one tends to express themselves differently at different stages of life.

Rose

One of the more popular tattoos that every one gets.  The color of the rose usually signifies a different meaning, for example: red is for love, pink symbolizes grace, white for innocence and rose buds to express youth and beauty.  Rose tattoos are typically found on the back, ankle or stomach. Men usually mix roses with tribal art and skulls or art work of that nature.

Lotus Flower

This is a flower that is derived from different cultures and has different meanings.  For the Indian and Chinese culture it is a symbol of spiritual meaning, while Europeans see it as a sign of innocence.  Because this tattoo design has many meanings you will probably end up explaining the significance of this tattoo every time someone sees it.

Sunflower

This type of tattoo carries on a different meaning based on the size of tattoo.      Smaller sunflowers symbolize adoration, while large sunflowers represent loyalty.

The Hibiscus

This is a popular tattoo design amongst the Hawaiians as it is the states’ national flower.  If you are a romantic at heart, this is the tattoo for you as it symbolizes delicate beauty or consumed by love.

Daisy

When you design your own tattoo to be a daisy, remember that this is firstly a female name.  Women tend to get these tattoos as they are symbolic of faith, love and purity.  It is a tattoo that never goes out of style…

Lily

This tattoo design dates back to ancient Egypt.  This flower is the symbol of fertility.  However nowadays different Lily’s have different meanings: tiger lilies symbolize prosperity and pride, calla lilies denote beauty, orange lilies represent hate.  People use these types of designs when they want to make a strong statement.

When you choose to Design Your Own Tattoo that is a flower tattoo, take you time and research the meaning behind the flower as well.  There are many more floral tattoos out there than what is listed in this article.   Have a look at my recommended websites for great design ideas for tatto design ideas on this blog:

Design Your Own Tattoo – Script Tattoos

Posted by | Posted in Design Your Own Tattoo | Posted on 05-09-2009

Design Your Own Tattoo - Script Tattoos

Design Your Own Tattoo - Script Tattoos

When you Design Your Own Tattoo have you ever thought about getting a script tattoo design? Many people like getting these types of tattoo designs as a show of love and respect to a certain companion, family member, or favorite pet.

There are also other types of scripts that can also be slogans that have special meaning in your life such as “love”, “friends for ever”, “joy”, “no regrets”.  Others like to have scriptures from their favorite songs, the bible versus, or other religious passages.

There are literally thousands of script fonts to choose from, even down to your own handwriting, do not count this out if you have your own beautiful scripture.  It is inspirational as well to consider using your own handwriting as well.

As mentioned, it is not uncommon to use scripture tattoos to dedicate them to a loved one and say things like “in loving memory”, “dedicated to”, “will be together forever”, etc.  You can also add backdrops such scenery or symbols behind your scripture and you can even use boarders, to go around the scripture such as a linked chain, spirals.

When you design your own tattoo using scriptures, remember that they are mostly basic in nature yet bring significant meaning to the message that you intend to convey.  Take your time in considering what you want to write and how it will be displayed.  Will you use an open book back drop, behind your script, or will you have a boarder?  Will your lettering allow for colorization to make it stand out, or will you want it all in one color (black, blue, red, etc).

Also consider the location of your body where you want to put the scripture, this will give you a better idea on the size of lettering.  One good piece of advice is you can use your computer to type out the scripture in a font that is close to font that you want your script in, and then print it out, then take scissors and cut around the text.  This way you can take that piece of paper and place it on the location of your body and you will see how it will look and if you could go a little larger or smaller on with the font.  This is a good preliminary test that will help save a lot of time when you design your own tattoo script….

5 Most Painful Places to consider when you Design Your Own Tattoo!

Posted by | Posted in Design Your Own Tattoo | Posted on 27-08-2009

5 Most Painful Places to consider when you Design Your Own Tattoo!

When you Design Your Own Tattoo there are 5 very painful places that you may want to consider before getting a tattoo on that part of your body.  The pain can be outrageous and if you have a low pain tolerance then you will want to steer clear of these areas.

1. Top of your Foot and/or Ankle – They do look cute, however…. There is barely any fat tissue around the ankle and the top of your foot making it quite a painful place for a tattoo.

2. Chest – When you Design Your Own Tattoo particularly right above the rib cage is another painful spot to get a tattoo as there is barely any fat tissue once again.

3. Behind the Ear – Behind your ear is little skin once again, but also there are a series of nerves in this spot as well.  If you have long hair or your cut of your hair covers this area you may not want to consider getting a tattoo in this spot as it will be hidden most of the time.

4. Your Eyes – People do in fact get their eyeballs colored.  Particularly for blind people to make their eyes look more normal.  Eyebrows and your lips fall into this category as well for being painful places to get inked.

5. Last but not least…. Around your monis pubis area and the land down under.  There are lots of nerves in the area for both males and females making this a very sensitive area indeed.  It makes me cringe just thinking about it….

Please give it some thought when you go to Design Your Own Tattoo.  You want to enjoy this experience for the moment and a lifetime.  If you are not into pain, please think of more common areas for your tattoo, such as: legs, thighs, fore-arms, back, lower back, neck, etc…

I hope you enjoyed the pain relief this article has helped to bring you!

Until next time….
